“Star” from VPR goes home in time for the holidays

I love a good holiday story. This week, I got the best kind of rescue dog adoption story: Star, a senior pup at Vintage Pet Rescue, went home wearing a WestieWear™ sweater I donated just days earlier.

A few weeks ago, I sent WestieWear™ sweaters to Vintage Pet Rescue as a small gesture of support for the incredible work they do caring for senior and special-needs dogs. I was deeply grateful to see Star wearing the sweater in a post they shared last week. After all, I handcrafted each sweater specifically to bring warmth, comfort, and hopefully, a little extra security. Seeing Star’s sweet face while bundled up in something I made by hand meant a lot.

Several days later, something wonderful happened. VPR shared a photo of the adorable brown poodle mix bundled up and ready to begin her next adventure. Star is going home—just in time for the holidays—wearing her new WestieWear™ sweater.

Star appeared comfortable and ready to take on this next chapter in her journey. Which reminded me exactly why handcrafted dog apparel matters. It’s not just about staying warm. It’s about feeling secure during life’s biggest transitions.
